About My Workshops

My heart-centered reflective journaling workshops offer an opportunity to slow down, turn inward, and explore the richness of our inner and outer worlds. They are also an opportunity to connect with others in a welcoming and supportive community.

Whether you are new to journaling or have been writing for years, you are welcome. No writing experience or special skills are needed. These workshops are not about learning how to write, but about using writing as a means of self-exploration, reflection, and discovery.

A Heart-Centered Approach

Our culture places great emphasis on thinking, analyzing, and doing. While the mind serves us in many important ways, I believe we also need to make room for the wisdom of the heart—our capacity for compassion, acceptance, love, and a deeper understanding of ourselves and others.

When we slow down and quiet the mind, we create space to listen more deeply to ourselves. Reflective journaling can help us become more aware of our emotions, feelings, and patterns of thinking, offering opportunities for new insights, greater self-understanding, and inner peace.

What to Expect in a Workshop

We begin each workshop with gentle breathing and relaxation practices to help quiet the mind, relax the body, and become more present.

I offer a variety of writing prompts, guided imagery, and visualizations to inspire reflection. After writing, participants are invited to explore their inner experience—perhaps noticing the emotions, feelings, or bodily sensations that arose during the writing process. This additional reflection can deepen self-awareness and open the door to new perspectives.

There are no right or wrong answers, and no expectations about what you should discover or express. Each person’s experience is unique, and I encourage participants to follow their own path of exploration.

Themes and Possibilities

Each Reflective Journaling Workshop offers an opportunity to explore a particular theme through guided imagery, visualization, thoughtful writing prompts, and personal reflection.

Workshop themes may include:

  • Self-Discovery and Personal Growth

Exploring who we are, what matters most to us, and the wisdom we carry within.

  • Gratitude and Appreciation

Recognizing the people, experiences, and everyday moments that enrich our lives.

  • Life’s Seasons and Transitions

Reflecting on change, new beginnings, and the natural rhythms of life.

  • Nature and the Seasons

Drawing inspiration from the natural world and our connection to its cycles.

  • Memories and Meaningful Moments

Revisiting experiences that have shaped our lives and discovering new perspectives.

  • Connection and Community

Exploring our relationships, shared humanity, and sense of belonging.

These are just a few of the many possibilities. Workshops can be adapted to the interests and needs of different groups, organizations, and communities.

Whether offered as a single experience or an ongoing series, each workshop provides an opportunity to slow down, reflect, and discover.

Connection, Community, and Respect

Although journaling is often a solitary practice, something special can happen when we come together to reflect in a group.

Participants are welcome to share their writing, thoughts, or insights with others, but sharing is always optional. Listening and simply being present are equally valued.

Confidentiality, mutual respect, and compassion are foundational to every workshop. My intention is to create an environment in which each person feels comfortable being themselves, knowing that their experiences and perspectives will be honored.

These workshops are not therapy, nor are they traditional classes. While reflective journaling can have therapeutic benefits, my role is to facilitate an experience that encourages personal exploration, self-discovery, and meaningful connection.
